Code of conduct

Treat everyone with respect, no matter which community you come from or how long you've been at this. On the stages and at the booths there will be people at their first event and people with twenty years in the field — both deserve the same attention.

Ask without fear and answer without condescension. Nobody has to prove they earned their spot to be here.

Comments or jokes about someone's gender, orientation, race, religion, disability, or appearance. Harassment of any kind, persisting after a no, unwanted physical contact, following someone around the event, or photographing them without permission.

Sustained disruption of talks, taking over someone else's space at the booths, or using the event for aggressive recruiting.

Find anyone on the organizing team — we'll be identifiable all day. You can also write to techday.cali@gmail.com during or after the event.

We'll listen, we won't ask you to confront anyone, and we won't share your name without your permission. Depending on the case, we may mediate, ask someone to leave the space, or cancel their ticket without a refund.

To everyone present: attendees, speakers, sponsors, vendors, and the organizing team. It applies on the stages, at the booths, in the event's groups, and on any accounts we use to organize it.
